Consultation begins on plans for new neighbourhood forum in Norwich

Published on Friday, 11th February 2022

Plans to designate a new neighbourhood forum within Norwich have been put forward to the city council and a public consultation has started.

The proposals have been made by a newly-formed community group – Norwich over the Wensum (NOW) – who hope in future to develop a plan for the neighbourhood area which was previously designated in 2018.

The council have now launched a consultation to get comments and feedback from residents on the application from the group.

If the application is approved, the forum can start to prepare a neighbourhood plan to set out a vision for the area and shape developments in their community.

Norwich City Council as the Local Planning Authority has a statutory duty under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 to advise and assist prospective neighbourhood forums in the preparation of a neighbourhood plan.

The consultation will run from Friday 11 February for 6 weeks (ending on Friday 25 March).

Visit the consultation page to view the documentation and to comment.
