If you have serious mobility issues, the Blue Badge helps you park closer to where you need to go. The scheme is run by Norfolk County Council in Norwich.

What to do if you can’t use the payment machines

If you’re a Blue Badge holder and can’t use the payment machines due to your disability, you can park in the following Norwich car parks without displaying a ticket:

  • Chantry
  • Chapelfield East
  • Pottergate
  • Magdalen Street
  • Rouen Road

What you need to do:

  1. Register by emailing your vehicle registration and billing address to parkingrequests@norwich.gov.uk or calling 0344 980 3333.
  2. Each time you park, within 2 working days, tell us:
    • which car park you used
    • date and time of parking
    • how long you stayed
    • your vehicle registration
    • your billing address
    • your Blue Badge number.

Important:

  • you must display your Blue Badge and time clock in your vehicle
  • this scheme doesn’t guarantee a parking space
  • if you get a parking fine but qualify for the scheme, it can be cancelled if you send your parking details within 2 working days.
