Scam text messages about payment for parking fines
Norwich City Council has received reports that people are receiving text messages stating they have a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and a link to pay it.
This is a scam. Norwich City Council will never send PCNs via text message.
If you receive such a message:
- Do not click on any links or provide personal or financial information.
- Report it to your mobile network provider by forwarding the message to 7726 (a free spam-reporting service).
- Delete the message immediately.
