Moth Survey Evenings
Join a Norwich City Council Mousehold Heath warden in using a light trap to catch, record and release the beautiful and diverse species of moth living in our parks and gardens.

Community Wildlife Workshops
Join a local wildlife expert and a Norwich City Council Mousehold Heath warden, to look at the wide variety of threatened and characteristic species which inhabit the site. The sessions will focus on a different species. After an hour in the classroom, the rest of the session will be spent exploring the site. Light refreshments are provided during the lunch break.

- Monday 20 July, 11am – 3pm: Introduction to Butterflies
- Tuesday 1 December, 11am – 3pm: Introduction to Winter Birds.

Dawn Chorus Survey Walk
Join a Mousehold warden in carrying out a B.T.O, Common Bird Census transect survey walk to mark International Dawn Chorus Week at the start of May – a worldwide celebration of the nature’s daily miracle.

Accompany local naturalist Jon Tyler and a Mousehold Heath warden to learn how to identify edible species and forage responsibly.

Geodiversity Earth Heritage Walk
Join Geologist Tim Hot-Wilson and a Mousehold warden to explore the Mousehold Earth Heritage Trail. Experience how past glacial activity and land use has shaped the landscape and how this supports biodiversity.

“A Wasteland or a People’s Park?”
This walk will demonstrate how it became neither and explores the transition from a disputed and quarried common to a beloved green space for the whole city. We will look at the challenges facing the early Rangers and how they managed to tame the Heath.

Fungi Walk
