City centre conservation area appraisal

This appraisal highlights the city centre's key characteristics and provides guidance for managing and enhancing its distinct character areas.

Each of the thirteen character areas has a short description explaining what the area is like, what makes it special, and which planning policies apply to it.

Every area has also been given a significance rating which shows how sensitive the area is to change, how much it contributes to the wider conservation area, and what makes it different from the others.
