Overview
Responsible for leading the strategic delivery of housing services, property management, corporate strategy and communications, and initiatives that reduce inequality and support healthy, thriving communities.
This role ensures tenants live in safe, well-maintained homes, fosters inclusive communities and wellbeing, and ensures community voices shape council services.
Key responsibilities
- Housing services and community support - Leads the provision of housing options, tenancy services, and support for independent living - ensuring residents can access suitable accommodation and thrive within their communities.
- Property services and asset management - oversees the safety, quality, and effective management of the council’s housing stock through leadership in compliance, repairs, planned investment, and long-term asset sustainability.
- Communities, leisure, culture and engagement - delivers services supporting the reduction of inequality, the delivery and promotion of sport and culture activities, support for tourism, and ensures the voice of the city is understood via consultation and community engagement
