Key projects include
- Redevelopment of Anglia Square – this flagship project aims to redevelop this once former run down 1960s shopping centre and deliver 1,100 new homes and a range of retail spaces, community and leisure facilities.
- Taking forward the proposals for the East Norwich Strategic Regeneration Area – the largest regeneration site in the East of England, with an ambition to deliver 3,500 homes and 4,000 jobs.
- Reimagining City Hall refurbishment – The council is working up plans to preserve City Hall’s heritage, boost the city centre economy, and make it a more modern, flexible and accessible place for the public, while providing a shovel ready scheme for any outcome of the Local Government Review.
- Norwich Market improvement project – Norwich City Market is being reimagined to better serve the community while preserving its historic character. The council is currently working up plans following a public consultation earlier this year to ensure our magical medieval market continues to attract thousands of shoppers and tourists for many more years to come.
- New Town Deal projects, including Sloughbottom Park revamp – Norwich City Council has secured £7.6 million from the Levelling Up Fund to transform Sloughbottom Park and Dolphin Path – bringing new life, better facilities, and more opportunities for everyone in our community.
- Relocation of the Norwich Livestock Market – provide a new regional facility for the farming community, ensuring the highest welfare standards.
