Wheelie bins or bags should be placed close to, but outside of, your property boundary, after 6pm the evening before your collection day and no later than 6am on the day itself. This helps make sure your bins are collected on time.
What to put in
- All food waste, such as:
- leftover food from your meals
- eggs and eggshells
- cheese and other dairy foods
- fruit and vegetables (raw or cooked)
- bread, cakes and biscuits
- meat and bones (raw or cooked)
- fish and fish bones (raw or cooked)
- rice, pasta and beans
- tea bags and coffee grounds
- pet food
- Cooking oil or fat (but please put large amounts in a sealed bottle beside the bin)
What not to put in
- any kind of packaging
- glass
- recycling like cans or paper
- garden waste like grass or leaves
- straw or animal bedding
How to use it
- Line your kitchen caddy
- Add food waste (no packaging)
- Tie the bag and place it in your outdoor bin
- Put it out for weekly collection
