Who runs the service?

Animal Warden Services (AWS) runs the stray dog service for Norwich City Council, collecting and housing stray dogs to keep them safe.

Stray dogs will be checked for microchipping or other identification and the owner will be contacted, provided up-to-date identification details are registered with the Microchip Registration Database.

All dogs and puppies must be microchipped and registered by the time they are 8 weeks old. When in public, every dog must wear a collar with an ID tag that includes the owners name and address, including postcode. This applies even if your dog is on a lead.
