Found a needle or syringe in a public place?
Do not touch it. If you can, cover it safely with something like a cone or a box.
Report it to us straight away and we aim to remove it within two hours of your report.
When reporting, please tell us:
- the exact location
- when you first saw it
- how many needles or syringes there are
- if there are any bodily fluids
- if there are any other drug-related items nearby.

If you see any sharps on public roads, pavements, footpaths or parks, please report it to us.

If you see any bodily fluids on public land, please report it to us.

Disposing of clinical waste
If you have medical waste like wound dressings or incontinence pads, your doctor or hospital will arrange safe disposal.
