What is the licensed premises register?
The licensed premises register is a public list maintained by Norwich City Council.
It shows details of places in Norwich that have official permission (a licence) to carry out certain activities.
These include:
- selling alcohol
- hosting entertainment (like live music or dancing)
- serving hot food or drinks late at night
- running betting shops, bingo halls, or adult gaming centres
- operating sex establishments.
The register is updated daily and includes:
- the name and address of each licensed premises
- the type of licence they hold
- a map showing where each place is located.
Even if a business closes, its licence will still appear on the register until it officially expires or is cancelled.
