Nearly 300 creatives, retailers and businesses flocked to St Saviours Yard – Norwich’s new box park – following an open day yesterday.

It means the meanwhile space, featuring over 80 containers, will host a wide range of creative workshops, retailer and businesses when it opens later this autumn.

Fred Wyatt, Managing Director of Meanwhile Creative, operators of St Saviours Yard said:  “Thank you to everyone who came down to our Open Day. Norwich is brimming with talent and energy. St Saviour’s Yard gives creative and independent businesses the space to grow, connect and thrive together. We cannot wait to build something special here.”

The council set up St Saviours Yard in Magdalen Street as part of the regeneration of Anglia Square which is being redeveloped to deliver 1,100 new homes and a range of leisure and retail spaces and community facilities.

Councillor Carli Harper, cabinet member for finance and major projects, said: “The enthusiasm and excitement surrounding St Saviours Yards is palpable. I am really looking forward to the opening of St Saviours which I think will become a roaring success and become a serious rival to similar sites in Shoreditch, Manchester or Bristol.”

Meanwhile Creative will announce the launch date of St Saviours over the next few weeks.
