Mike Stonard, leader of Norwich City Council, said: “I have struggled to find the words following the devastating terrorist attack in Manchester yesterday. Two lives lost, families shattered, and a community targeted on one of its most sacred days.
“That this attack happened outside a synagogue, on Yom Kippur, is not just heartbreaking – it’s a deliberate attempt to sow fear and division. The Jewish community in Manchester, here in Norwich and across the whole of the UK deserve to feel safe, respected and embraced.
“To the families of Adrian Daulby and Melvin Cravitz, and to all those affected: you are in our thoughts here in Norwich. We mourn with you. We stand with you.
“We will continue to work with our own Jewish community and all faith groups to ensure Norwich remains a place where everyone belongs”.
