Local business set to manage The Halls’ bar

The Halls

When The Halls opens its doors again this spring, visitors will enjoy a fresh, welcoming bar run by one of Norwich’s most beloved independent businesses.

The team behind The Bicycle Shop will manage the bar at The Halls, bringing with them their trademark blend of warmth, craft and care.

As The Halls begins a new chapter, the partnership will complement a venue that  celebrates its rich heritage while being rooted firmly in the culture and creativity of modern Norwich. Audiences will be able to enjoy the bar before events, during intervals, and as part of the wider experience of returning to one of the city’s most treasured buildings.

Councillor Claire Kidman, Norwich City Council’s cabinet member for culture and wellbeing, said: “We are delighted that The Bicycle Shop will be managing the bar at The Halls when it reopens in March. It is fantastic to be able to work in partnership with this local business as we begin an exciting new chapter in this special city venue.”

Rob Howe, owner of the The Bicycle Shop, said: "The Bicycle shop is thrilled to be working with the council on the re-launch of the Halls and very excited to continue to work within Norwich’s diverse cultural community."

The Halls has been closed since 2024 to allow for renovation and upgrades funded by The Towns Deal.  With a confirmed reopening in March, the first performances have already been announced, including the UEA Orchestra, Norwich Philharmonic and events as part of the Norfolk & Norwich Festival, marking the beginning of a revived cultural programme for the year ahead.
