Volunteer to help people get online

Join a growing community of volunteers helping others build confidence with technology - no experience needed, just a willingness to help.

Do you enjoy helping others and want to make a difference in your community? You don’t need to be a tech expert - just someone who’s patient, friendly, and willing to support others in learning digital skills.

Why volunteer?

Many people in Norwich still struggle to use the internet confidently. By volunteering, you can help them:

  • stay connected with family and friends
  • access important services online
  • learn how to use smartphones, tablets, or computers safely

Ways you can help

There are two great ways to get involved:

Library digital support

Norfolk County Council is looking for volunteers to help run digital skills sessions in libraries across Norwich. You’ll support people one-on-one or in small groups, helping them learn the basics of using technology.

Barclays Helping Others Programme

Barclays is also recruiting volunteers for their Helping Others Programme.

You don’t need any special tech skills - they’ll provide full training and support.

You’ll help people in your area feel more confident online.
