Want to celebrate a special moment, honour someone’s memory, or simply make a lasting impact on your city’s green spaces? With our Sponsor a Tree scheme, you can help plant a new tree in Norwich and contribute to a healthier, more beautiful environment.
Who can sponsor?
Absolutely anyone!
Whether you're a resident or visitor, an individual, group, or business – this is your chance to leave a living legacy.
Cost: £250
Your sponsorship covers everything needed to give your tree the best start in life:
- tree selection: we choose a species that suits the location and source it from trusted suppliers to ensure it’s healthy and ready to thrive
- location choice: you can suggest a planting spot, and we’ll do our best to make it happen. If it’s not suitable, we’ll work with you to find a great alternative
- planting: this includes preparing the site – even if it means removing paving or concrete
- protection: your tree will be securely staked and protected with a wooden guard
- care and maintenance: we’ll water and maintain the tree for the first two years, inspect it regularly, and include it in our long-term tree safety programme
- personalised certificate: you’ll receive a certificate with the tree’s location, species, and any commemorative message you’d like to include.
You can also choose to have your name and message added to the council’s Tree Sponsors List.
When are trees planted?
We plant trees during the winter season – typically October to March – when conditions are best for growth.
Ready to pay?
You will need your 'trees for Norwich' reference number, quoted on your email link.
