If you're planning a large development (10+ homes or over 1,000m²), we offer a tailored advice service to support you through the process. This flexible service is designed to help at every stage from early ideas to final plans.
How it works
- email Planning@norwich.gov.uk to discuss the scope of your request with a planning officer
- we’ll guide you through site constraints, planning history, relevant policies, and what you’ll need to submit
- early advice can be useful even at the concept stage (RIBA Stages 0–2)
What’s included
- advice on design, planning policies, and community engagement
- help with validation requirements and likely consultees
- optional design review and planning committee presentations
- environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening if needed
Fees and timescales
- fees are agreed case-by-case, starting from £1,500–£5,000
- for larger schemes, a planning performance agreement may be recommended
- hourly rates may apply depending on the level of support needed
