Consultation closed: Proposed parking charges at Eaton Park

Consultation closed 16 February 2023

Stage two

The city council is now in the second stage of public consultation about proposed charges for parking in Eaton Park.

This involves the council writing to everyone who took part in the original consultation.

The consultation is due to end on Thursday, 16 February 2023 and a decision on the charges will be made in the week that follows.

Stage one - closed

Consultation closed 3 January 2023.

The city council has started a public consultation on the introduction of car parking charges at Eaton Park.

This is the first of the city’s parks to be considered for the charges and comes following a council decision in 2021 to introduce charges in some of the city’s parks. The decision was made as a result of mounting financial pressure on the council.

The move to introduce these charges has the backing of those who responded to the council’s 2022-23 budget consultation in which they gave their support to the council to prioritise increasing fees and charges to protect services.

Proposed charges

Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays:

  • Up to 4 hours - £2.00
  • Up to 5 hours - £5.00
  • Up to 6 hours - £6.00
  • Over 6 hours - £8.00

Consultation documents

See our news release for further details on the proposed charges.
