Why did I get a notice?
Allotment inspections and notices

Find out when your plot will be inspected, what the inspectors look for and what to do if you are issued a notice.

Why did I get a notice?

Notices are usually sent when a plot isn’t being looked after properly. Common reasons include:

  • poor cultivation or weed growth
  • overgrown boundaries or brambles
  • unsafe structures
  • waste or rubbish on the plot

If your plot isn’t clearly numbered - as per the Allotment rules, you might receive a notice meant for someone else. Make sure your plot number is easy to see and contact us if you think there’s been a mistake.
