Pledge Norwich

Got a great idea to make Norwich even better? Whether it’s a greener space, a community hub, or a project that brings people together, there’s support waiting for you. Here’s how you can turn your vision into reality…

What is Pledge Norwich?

Pledge Norwich is a funding program by Norwich City Council that helps local charities, community groups, co-operatives, and not-for-profit organisations bring their ideas to life. It’s all about improving neighbourhoods, supporting residents, and making Norwich an even better place to live.

How does it work?

  • The fund comes from the Community Infrastructure Levy (money developers pay to support local areas).
  • Eligible projects can receive up to 50% of their total cost, capped at £5,000.
  • You’ll need to show you have the rest of the funding in place before the council releases its pledge.

What kind of projects get funded?

Think community-focused and inclusive ideas, such as:

  • Green spaces: planting, wildflower meadows, community gardens.
  • Play and youth activities: playground improvements, sports clubs.
  • Community hubs: cafés, workshops, art projects.
  • Environmental initiatives: recycling, biodiversity, anti-litter campaigns.
  • Accessibility improvements: wheelchair-friendly spaces, dementia-friendly areas.
  • Training and skills: horticulture, community leadership.

Examples of funded projects

  • Raised beds and a wildflower meadow in Jubilee Park.
  • A community café at Mousehold Hub.
  • A new accessible bus for Norwich Door to Door.
  • Expanding youth workshops like Not About the Bike.

Why get involved?

This is your chance to make a real difference in your neighbourhood. Whether it’s creating a safe play area, tackling loneliness, or improving local green spaces, Pledge Norwich can help turn your ideas into reality.
