About house exchanges

If you are a Norwich City Council tenant with a secure tenancy and thinking about moving, you may be able to swap homes with another council or housing association tenant through a mutual exchange.

How to start

Register on the House Exchange website to search for homes that meet your needs, or try Facebook groups, shop noticeboards or word of mouth.

Once everyone involved agrees to go ahead with the exchange:

  • Each person will need to complete and submit an application form
  • We won’t review the application until we receive all completed forms
  • You’ll get a decision within 42 days of receiving all forms.
