We’re here to help you

If you’re having trouble paying your rent or owe money (called “arrears”), an income officer can talk with you and help you make a plan to pay your rent in a way that’s fair and affordable.

How to get in touch

Email or call an income officer on 01603 987601 during office hours (Monday to Friday).

Talking to us early can help stop things from getting worse. It might even stop court action or losing your home.

What your income officer can do

  • help you make a plan to pay your rent and arrears which might include setting up a direct debit
  • take a payment for you
  • put you in touch with money experts who can provide support with budgeting and debt advice
  • apply to the department of work and pensions to have your rent payments paid directly into your rent account
  • give advice on benefits you might be able to able to apply for
  • help you claim or maintain your benefits including moving to universal credit
  • connect you with other people who can help you stay in your home
  • vist you at home or arrange a face to face meeting.
