Norwich City Council has a legal responsibility, under the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, to help keep residents safe.
Fire doors are required for flats that open onto communal areas. They play an important role in preventing the spread of fire and smoke, helping to protect residents and giving people more time to leave the building safely in an emergency.
We are carrying out a programme of fire door replacements and have appointed Gerda and Bell Group to carry out this work on our behalf.
If your home is included in the current programme, a contractor will contact you to arrange a survey of your existing door. Once the survey is complete, your new door will be manufactured and an appointment will be made to install it.
The FAQs below provide more information about the fire door replacement programme.
