Improving your home - what you need to know
You must get written permission from the council before making any changes to your home.
This includes things like:
- new flooring, kitchens or bathrooms
- heating systems or double glazing
- extensions, conservatories or knocking down walls
- anything affecting gas, electricity or water
- changes to shared areas.
Steps to take
- call 0344 980 3333 to check if your home is part of a council upgrade
- write to Property Services at City Hall, Norwich NR2 1NH with full details of your planned work
- wait for written approval before starting anything.
