Looking for independent living with support? Explore over 900 sheltered homes across the city for people aged 60+. Each comes with a 24/7 emergency alarm and access to a support officer - so you can live independently with confidence.
A place to call home
We offer 26 sheltered housing schemes across the city, with around 915 homes for people aged 60 and over.
These homes are flats or bungalows designed for those who can live independently but may need a little extra support.

Costs
In addition to your rent, you’ll pay:
- a charge for the emergency alarm service
- a support charge for help from your support officer
- a service charge for shared areas and facilities.
If you receive Housing Benefit or Universal Credit, you may get help with some of these costs.
