Leaseholder repairs and improvements

Your responsibilities as a leaseholder

You are responsible for the inside of your flat or maisonette, and any service pipes and cables that serve the flat only. This includes items such as internal doors, pipe work, decoration, electrics and heating.

As a leaseholder you are responsible for making sure all your gas appliances, fittings and flues are checked regularly by a qualified professional to make sure they are safe. All appliances should be installed and maintained by a Gas Safe Register™ engineer. The only exception to this is if the property is connected to the communal district heating system.

Read about servicing your gas central heating.

Our responsibilities

We are responsible for maintaining the external fabric of the building and any internal common parts. This includes roofs, drains, windows, external doors, communal lighting and shared paths.
