New website
We're currently redeveloping our website so you may see a mix of old and new style pages while we complete this work. We'd love to hear your feedback on the new style.
If you want to run a private hire vehicle business (like a minicab service), you must have an operator licence.
An operator is the person or company that takes bookings from customers. Even if you don’t drive the vehicle yourself, you still need a licence to take bookings.
Make sure:
The council will also check with the planning department to make sure your business address is suitable.
The licence is valid for 5 years.
A private hire driver can’t take bookings unless they are licensed and work for a licensed operator.
Let us know if your details change.
If you have any questions about your application, email licensing@norwich.gov.uk or call 01603 989400.
