Padel tennis is a mix between tennis and squash and is played over a net on an enclosed court with a stringless racket and slightly deflated tennis balls. Invented in 1969 in Mexico, it has become Spain's second most participated sport behind football and is exploding with growth across Europe.
It is one of the easiest racket sports to learn and is very sociable because you play in doubles. Padel is more accessible to learn than sports like tennis due to its smaller enclosed court size, underarm serves, slower ball speeds, and glass walls that keep rallies going longer.
The courts are open daily all year round from 6am to 10pm and can be booked online by visiting the website eatonparkpadel.org.uk or downloading the Playtomic app (clear instructions are available on the website). You can book a court, social session or coaching session.
Purchase an annual membership for £40 and this entitles you to a 50% discount off court bookings - £10 a court instead of £20 (£2.50 per person) plus a 21 day advance booking window.
Don’t have a racket or balls? That’s no problem, there is a self service locker to hire a racket for £3 and purchase a tube of balls for £5.
Eaton Park Padel also offer beginner friendly 6 week padel courses, all available online or through the Playtomic app.

A recent comment:
I just want to commend and say thank you for the incredible new Padel Courts in Eaton Park. I'm 64 years old and played for the first time last week. The courts are superb and the facilities are amazing. Everything is so easy to use via the app. And the lockers and hire racket option is amazing. What a brilliant game Padel is as well. And at £5 per game for a whole hour - it's just fantastic. If when deciding to build the courts you cited the benefit of getting the community active, you have certainly succeeded. This old codger intends to play this amazingly accessible and fun game as often his legs will allow, BRILLIANT. With genuine and sincere thanks, Neil Basnett
