Learn about Local Development Orders and when you can carry out certain building work without needing planning permission.
Local Development Orders make it easier to carry out certain building work without needing planning permission. This saves time and money for homeowners and developers.
An adopted LDO allows flat owners to replace windows and doors without planning permission, as long as they follow the rules in the order. This does not apply to flats in listed buildings or conservation areas.
This order helps both homeowners and the council’s efforts to improve energy efficiency in homes.
You can find more details in the LDO documents, including examples of when permission is or isn’t needed and the reasons behind the order.
This LDO covers the Norwich City Council area, except for a small part near Cremorne Lane, which is managed by the Broads Authority. The order does not apply to properties in that area.
