Norwich City Council is the data controller and data processor for Norwich Energy Plan questionnaire.

What will we do with your data?
Where respondents to the ‘Norwich Energy Plan’ Get Talking Norwich questionnaire opt to provide their email address data as part of their response, the council’s Environmental Strategy Team will use this information for internal use only to distribute further information to you via email from climateaction@norwich.gov.uk about community energy projects and environmental initiatives local to Norwich.
Your data will not be shared with any third party.
How long will we hold your data?
Your data will be retained for the above stated purpose until 31 March 2028. Thereafter all data associated with this project will be destroyed.
What lawful basis is used to collect your data?
Where respondents to the ‘Norwich Energy Plan’ Get Talking Norwich questionnaire opt to provide their email address data as part of their response, the lawful basis for the council collecting this data as set out in Article 6 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation is category (a) Consent: “the person has clearly given consent for you to use their information for a specific purpose.”
What are your rights?
You have the right to request access to your personal information to:
- ask for errors to be corrected
- restrict how your information is used
- object to how it is processed
- request that your data is deleted.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office if you are not happy with how your data is processed.
You retain the right to remove your consent at any time either by contacting DPO@norwich.gov.uk or climateaction@norwich.gov.uk.
What are the consequences of you not providing data?
We will not be able to send you information via email about environmental initiatives and community energy projects local to Norwich.
How will we share your data?
Your data will not be shared outside of the council’s Environmental Strategy Team. Your email address data will be used only for the purpose of sending you further information via email from climateaction@norwich.gov.uk about community energy projects and environmental initiatives in Norwich.
