How Norwich City Council is performing - and why it matters to you

We believe in being open, honest, and accountable. That’s why we share how we’re doing and where we’re heading - so you can see how your council is working for you.

What is “Performance and Open Data”?

It’s all about transparency. We track how well we’re delivering services, meeting goals, and improving life in Norwich. Then we publish that data so you can explore it yourself.

Whether it’s housing, waste collection, community safety, or financial management - we measure it, report it, and act on it.

How we measure success

We use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - simple metrics that show how we’re doing across different areas. These are updated regularly and include:

  • Quarterly Reports: see how we’re progressing every few months.
  • Annual Reports: a big-picture view of our achievements and challenges.
  • Finance Reports: understand how we’re spending public money.
  • Risk Reports: learn how we’re managing potential issues.

We use a traffic light system to make it easy:

  • 🟢 Green - on track or exceeding targets
  • 🟡 Amber - needs attention
  • 🔴 Red - off track and action is being taken
