Political make-up

Following the city council elections on 6 May 2021, the political make-up is:

  • Labour 26 seats*
  • Green Party 9 seats
  • Liberal Democrats 3 seats

Labour has a majority of the seats and therefore has overall control.

* The election for the remaining seat in Sewell ward will be held on Thursday 17 June, following the death of one of the candidates, Evelyn Collishaw.
