Norwich’s historic, inclusive summer event
The Lord Mayor’s Weekend is Norwich’s major summer celebration, attracting up to 30,000 people each year.
The Procession has a 375‑year history and was revived in 1975. Originally reintroduced in 1998 as a street procession and funfair, it has since evolved into a three‑day festival of music, theatre, street entertainment, and activities for children and young people, delivered by Norwich City Council.
The council is committed to inclusive events, working to remove barriers for artists, audiences, and the workforce, and proudly partners with Attitude is Everything.
