Supplementary planning documents (SPDs)
SPDs explain how the policies in the Local Plan should be used in practice. They don’t introduce new policies but give more detail to support and explain existing ones.
Adopted SPDs
We currently have SPDs about affordable housing, heritage interpretation, landscape and trees, main town centre uses and retail frontages and open space and play.
SPDs in progress
We are currently writing new SPDs which give more detail on GNLP policy 2 (Sustainable Communities), policy 3 (Environmental Protection and Enhancement) and policy 5 (Homes).
