Marking 50 years since Britten’s death, Britten Sinfonia explore the composer’s transformative North American years alongside works by his friend and mentor Aaron Copland.
Soprano Elizabeth Watts joins for Les Illuminations, while BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Oleg Shebeta‑Dragan performs Copland’s Clarinet Concerto.
The programme also features Britten’s vibrant Young Apollo, Copland’s Appalachian Spring, and piano pieces by Paul Bowles, reflecting the extraordinary creative circle Britten and Pears inhabited during their time in the US and Canada.
