Norwich City Council is made up of 39 councillors, representing 13 wards across the city (3 councillors per ward). These elected members shape the future of Norwich by making decisions on everything from housing and planning to recycling and Council Tax.

  • Leader of the Council and Cabinet: They steer the council’s priorities and make key decisions.
  • Council officers: Professionals who help implement policies and run services.
  • Political makeup:
    • Labour: 19 seats
    • Green Party: 16 seats
    • Liberal Democrats: 3 seats
    • Independent: 1 seat

(Labour is the largest party but doesn’t have overall control)
