Norwich City Council has created an Environmental Grants scheme to disburse a total pot of £20,000 per annum to community groups or projects undertaking activities aligned with the council’s environmental, climate and nature recovery priorities.
The city of Norwich has a target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to reach ‘net-zero’ by 2045 (as set out in the council’s Climate Responsive Norwich Programme), and the council’s Biodiversity Strategy sets out an ambition to ‘create a city where biodiversity can sustainably recover and thrive’. The council recognises that Norwich communities share these ambitions and can play an important role in supporting delivery of these aims.
Applicants may apply for an amount up to £5,000 to support their proposed project or initiative.
There are no deadlines for applications. You can submit your proposal at any time during the year, and we aim to assess them within 6 weeks where we can. Applications meeting the minimum scoring criteria will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis.
Full details of the grant and its criteria are available in the documents provided below on this page or you can contact the environmental strategy team at environmentalstrategy@norwich.gov.uk
Successful applicants are required to acknowledge the support of Norwich City Council on any publicity materials and to complete an end of project report.
