Removal of permitted development rights by condition

Some properties in the city have had certain permitted development rights removed by condition. It is the owner's/developer's responsibility to ensure that any works are permitted development, by checking the planning history of the property, before proceeding.

If you do not have a record of the site’s planning history, information from 28 November 2005 is available online via the Planning Public Access website

The history of sites (including copies of decision notices) preceding this date can be obtained from the planning department by emailing planning@norwich.gov.uk with the subject line ‘Planning History’ and providing the full address details of the site in question.

There is a charge for this service - see Pre-application advice services.

Planning decisions can be viewed at City Hall during normal office hours, with the exception of Wednesday morning.
