Our council offices and phone lines will close at 4pm on Wednesday 24 December and reopen at 9am on Monday 5 January 2026.

Assessment
Applications are considered based on:
- local planning policies and development plans
- financial considerations
- national planning guidance (like the National Planning Policy Framework)
- any new or emerging policies
- other relevant documents and factors
As part of the assessment stage, your case officer may contact you to discuss any changes that are needed to make your project acceptable.
