Julia has worked in the Civil Service since 1983 in various roles before being appointed District Manager for East Anglia in June 2012. Since then Julia has been keen to develop a number of partnerships to tackle Social Justice. This includes a valuable partnership that she has forged with the Police and Crime Commissioner, as Vice-Chair of the Norfolk Rehabilitation Board, working to reduce re-offending by providing rehabilitation of offenders. Julia has also supported Chloe Smith MP with Norwich for Jobs placing young people from all backgrounds into employment and has been a Princes Trust Ambassador for 20 years.
She was very proud to be awarded an OBE in the Queens New Year’s Honour List 2017 for services to tackling youth unemployment in East Anglia and also to be awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of East Anglia in October 2019.
