This year sees the 50th Anniversary of the death of Benjamin Britten and to mark it we will be opening our new season on 7th November with a performance of his deeply moving War Requiem.
Britten was not only a major figure in 20th century British music, he was of course East Anglian born and bred, with very close associations with Norwich.
Many of you will remember us giving a performance of the War Requiem in 2013 as part of ‘Familiar Fields’, the centenary celebrations we organised here in Norfolk.
On this occasion we are very excited to have internationally acclaimed tenor, James Gilchrist, heading up a trio of star soloists in this dramatic and powerful work.
