Norwich has a bold vision for 2040 – a city that’s creative, liveable, fair, connected, and dynamic. So far, 50 projects are underway or completed, all working towards these goals.

Norwich wants to be world-famous for creativity and innovation.

  • Cultural Education Partnership: Schools and cultural groups are giving young people more creative opportunities.
  • Norwich Make Space: Transforming The Halls into a cutting-edge digital making hub.

2. A Liveable City

A city that values its environment and aims for carbon neutrality by 2050.

  • Goldsmith Street: Award-winning Passivhaus homes set a new standard for sustainable living.
  • 100 Day Challenge: Workshops and training to help residents live greener lives.
  • Norwich Climate Commission: Bringing businesses, councils, and communities together to tackle climate change.

3. A Fair City

Everyone should enjoy a good quality of life.

  • Social Enterprise City: Norwich now has 53 social enterprises improving lives in education, housing, and more.
  • Emergency Databank: Free internet data for residents who need it most.
  • New U Programme: Helping young people with complex needs find work.

4. A Connected City

Better transport, stronger digital links, and a sense of community.

  • UK’s First Sharing City: Encouraging collaboration and resource sharing.
  • City of Stories: Promoting Norwich’s unique character to the world.
