From 1 April 2026, a redesigned Transitional Relief scheme is in place to support businesses with significant increases in their Business Rates following the 2026 revaluation. The scheme phases in increases across the 2026/27, 2027/28 and 2028/29 financial years to prevent sudden rises in bills.
A 1p supplement will apply for one year to ratepayers who do not receive Transitional Relief or Supporting Small Business Relief, helping to fund the scheme.
Norwich City Council will automatically apply Transitional Relief to all eligible accounts — there is no need to apply.
