Working together to improve communal areas
If something’s not right in the communal areas of your building - like the stairwell, garden, or foyer - let us know. Reporting problems helps us respond quicker and keep your shared spaces clean, safe and welcoming for everyone.
Why reporting communal issues matters
- faster responses: the sooner you report a problem, the sooner it gets sorted - whether it’s a broken lift, poor lighting, or a messy garden.
- safer spaces: reporting things like faulty doors or anti-social behaviour helps keep everyone safe.
- cleaner, nicer living areas: clean stairwells, tidy gardens, and working lights make shared spaces more enjoyable.
- your voice counts: you help shape the quality of your living environment by speaking up.

Report a problem in shared areas
If you spot something wrong in the shared parts of your building - like the foyer, stairwell, garden, or garage - let us know so we can respond more quickly.
- Report broken glass (also use this form to report other sharp objects such as drawing pins, nails and tacks)

What to look out for
We rely on residents to help keep communal spaces safe, clean, and pleasant.
Here are some common issues:
In high-rise buildings
- broken or unreliable lifts
- poor lighting or airflow
- anti-social behaviour in stairwells
- blocked rubbish chutes or bins
- problems with entry doors or security
In mid-rise buildings
- dirty or dark stairwells and landings
- overgrown gardens or messy bin areas
- issues with caretaking services
- problems with parking or bike storage
- fly-tipping near entrances
In sheltered housing
- faulty automatic doors or call systems
- accessibility issues (e.g. lifts, ramps, handrails)
- poor cleaning in shared areas
- untidy gardens or seating areas
