Types of committees - Licensing Committee and Regulatory Committee
The council’s Licensing and Regulatory Committees are in charge of making sure local venues and events follow the rules when it comes to things like selling alcohol, hosting entertainment, and running clubs. Whether it’s a pub, a festival, or a private event, they handle the paperwork and approvals needed to keep things safe and legal.
They also form the membership of the sub-committees that will hold hearings on the Regulating Private Hire Vehicles Licenses and Hackney Carriage Licenses, as well as the those required under the Licensing Act 2003 and the Gambling Act 2005.
