Leaseholders' guide – what you need to know - Pets in council homes
Tower blocks
If you live in a council-owned tower block (Ashbourne, Aylmer, Burleigh, Compass, Markham, Normandie, Seaman, or Winchester), you can only keep small pets that stay in cages or tanks - like budgies or goldfish.
Other council homes
In all other council properties, you can have pets as long as they’re suitable for the size of your home. You must take good care of them and make sure they don’t bother your neighbours.
