New website
We're currently redeveloping our website so you may see a mix of old and new style pages while we complete this work. We'd love to hear your feedback on the new style.
Most front doors that open onto shared areas (like hallways, balconies, or stairwells) must be fire doors that meet the FD30S standard. This means they can help protect you for at least 30 minutes if there's a fire.
The council regularly checks and installs fire doors as part of a planned programme. If your door needs fixing outside of this schedule, please report it to us.
You can only replace your front door yourself if it’s not a fire door. To check this, email the Home Ownership Team. If your door isn’t a fire door, they’ll let you know and give you permission to replace it.
